Bombs In The Distance II- Co-written and performed by Nick
Marko (ASCAP) produced by Michael Ivins
Nick learned the drums at an early age and taught himself piano and guitar. His previous band, The Holy Fire, signed with The Militia Group (The Appleseed Cast, Cartel) and played the 2006 South By Southwest Festival. Michael Ivins of The Flaming Lips produced two of their EP's including In the Name of the World. The Holy Fire has toured the U.S. many times to enthusiastic crowds. Nick's drumming with The Holy Fire has been described as "primal" and a "physical sort of passion." Nick has also played drums on other nationally released projects. His musical influences run the gamut from Big Country (and the late Stuart Adamson ), Husker Du and The Pixies to early Blues and Big Band to classical to Neil Young and Joni Mitchell to Mars Volta. These influences can definitely be heard in his new project, Singer & Soldier.
Nick Marko's drumming has been hailed as some of the best in Detroit today. His years of study have resulted in a daring and professional sound and memorable live performances. Nick has performed and recorded with multiple bands, including American Mars, which features Grammy winner, Dave Feeny, and with Ohio's The Most Beautiful Losers, EP titled Just Killer. He has drummed for bands like The Holy Fire and Leaving Rouge, including their nationally released albums and U.S. tours. Michael Ivins of The Flaming Lips produced two of The Holy Fire's EP at Tarbox Road Studios in New York (Modest Mouse, Phantom Planet). Nick Marko can perform both live and with a click track in a studio to give clients - and thus audiences - consistent and great sounding music.
